His name was JAMES BYRON DEAN. He was an actor.
He lost his life in a carcrash during
sunset on September the 30th, 1955,
on the crossroad, 800 metres east of this tree,
wich was for a long time called, the heaven tree.
He was only 24 years old.
Why James Dean.....You will think, aren't there enough websites, books, etc, made about him!!!
I totally agree with you.....but something is missing, in all websites and books I have seen and read
I don't want to critisize them. Thanks to this medium James is still alive, for almost 51 years.
On this website you won't find a link to the accident...enough has been said and done about it.
If you want to know more, you can read the book of Warren Newton Beath, The Death of James Dean.
We will never understand....why.......what if.....
James is probably the only one who has peace with it.
He knew he would die young, that this would happen......his brain was so big, he wanted everything...
to get enough knowledge, create things.
He wanted to change something, leave something behind, something to touch,
so he wouldn't be blown by the wind....as if he was never been here.
But the most important for him was to feel, actually to feel,
because then he was able to touch the earth with his feet and say: "This is real, I'm alive."
On early age he was confronted with loss, the dead of his mother Mildred Dean.
He was 9 years old.
Then came the second loss, his father....James:"I never understood him.
I never understood what he wanted, what kind of man he was, because he never
was interested in me, or tried to see the things like I saw them as a small child."
James:"It's difficult for a child not to have a mother, you know, but when she died
I moved to my uncle and aunt, wonderfull people." And so he grew up in Fairmount Indiana.
